Resources

Organizations I have worked closely with that are doing amazing work serving the Latino population:

The North Carolina Farmworkers Project

This project partners with medical schools across Southeastern NC to bring free and accessible care to farmworkers. It is composed of bilingual community health workers who organize transportation, appointments, medication refills, BP logs for migrant workers.

The Center for New North Carolinians

This organization is located in Greensboro, NC. Since Greensboro is a gateway city, it is a sort of haven and welcoming place for newcomers. The CNNC offers all kinds of resources for refugees and immigrants who need aid in adjusting to a new culture & healthcare system.

Camino Health Center

This community clinic is located in Charlotte, NC, the biggest city in NC with the largest Latino population. Every staff member (front desk, medical assistants, & providers) are bilingual! They offer affordable care for the uninsured population, which almost always happens to be undocumented/ Latino individuals.

Hmong & Hispanic Network

The city of Wausau has one of the largest Hmong populations in the nation. Hispanics are the largest growing minority in the area, as well. H2N serves both of these groups because of shared disparities, not just in healthcare.

The Wausau Free Clinic

This clinic offers all of their services (consults, labs, medications, food access) for FREE to individuals under the national poverty line.
